Sweet & Spicy Marinated Sirloin Steak
Oriental meets Mediterranean in this flavorful, sweet-and-spicy marinade. This marinade is also great when grilling New York strip steaks.
This recipe serves 2.
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
- 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
- 2 beef top sirloin steaks (4 ounces each)
- 3 green onions, sliced
1 In a blender, combine the honey, soy sauce, oil, vinegar, garlic, and pepper. Cover the blender and process until blended.
2 Pour 1/3 cup marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add steaks and onions. Seal the bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade for basting.
3 Coat the grill rack with cooking spray before heating the grill. Drain and discard the marinade from the plastic bag; remove the steaks from the bag.
4 Grill the steaks over a medium-hot heat for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until the meat reaches desired doneness, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.
